B.C. health minister Adrian Dix announced at a press conference today that after over a decade of planning, construction of the new St.Paul’s Hospital has begun.
“The new St.Paul’s Hospital will be a full service hospital with the capacity of 548 beds. It will also be a referral centre for heart, lung and transplant care.” – Adrian Dix, B.C. health minister
VANCOUVER PARK BOARD APPROVES STANLEY PARK BIKE LANE

The Vancouver Park Board approved the Stanley Park Drive bike lane until the end of October. The bike lane was created last summer to allow people to be outdoors while still distancing during the pandemic. With the weather starting to become warmer, Spokes Bike Rentals have already started seeing a 20 per cent increase in business and they expect to see more with the bike lane being approved.

COVID-19 has put a stop to many team sports and games, but over the last few months golf courses and instructors have seen a large increase of youth taking a swing at the game.
“A lot of normal activities for kids have been cancelled or postponed so they have a lot more time and are looking to find ways to still socialize with other kids and they are able to do that on the golf course where there’s a lot of space and room for them to have fun and to be outside.” – Jared Remple, Golf Instructor

A B.C. mother is outraged after her daughter and other Grade 6 students at William A. Fraser Middle School were given homework asking them to highlight positive stories and facts about Canada’s residential school system.
Up to 6,600 Indigenous children are believed to have died in residential schools while others were physically and sexually abused at the institution that operated for over 120 years.
